Training AIDS workers to touch the lives of those living with HIV and AIDS.
By helping to train one leader, you can help reduce the stigma of AIDS in communities.
AIDS workers must not only combat the virus, but misinformation as well. People worldwide still live in fear of AIDS, imposing superstitions and prejudices on those who have the disease. So OM has partnered with AIDSLink to offer training to leaders doing outreach or community development. The AIDS facilitator’s training not only teaches the facts of HIV and AIDS, but allows workers to address their own attitudes toward people living with it, enabling them to offer a compassionate Christian response.
One young journalism student attended the AIDSLink training program from a closed middle eastern country. Her heart was so moved, and her life so changed, that she returned to her country with a burden for female drug addicts and sex workers. These women are the most abused and marginalized people in her country. The work of this young woman has now expanded into empowering women who are in her country as refugees. It all started with the AIDSLink training, where God got hold of her heart and transformed her life.
You can help send one leader through this life-changing training which helps bring dignity to those with HIV and AIDS. In 2011, the training will take place in 3 international venues at a cost of $720 per person.
