I'm very privileged in the sense that I was able to study what I love doing, Art and Jewellery making. It has given me great opportunities to travel and work in first world and third world countries. I was able to work with my mum to train women from poorer communities in South Africa to create murals and thus generate an income for their family. Not only did it provide financial freedom for women in that community, but a good sense of self worth and achievement. I realized that it doesn't take much to make a huge difference. I strongly feel that Art is such a powerful tool to reach out, engage and beautify.
I've been so fortunate to choose to live in this beautiful country, that I feel I need to make a contribution, to make a difference to someone that isn't in my fortunate position.
